So today I took delivery of the official Fuji hand grip for the XPRO 2; this is a quick look with some initial thoughts.
I'm mainly a zoom shooter when it comes to events and weddings, I only stick the primes on for the ceremony if the lighting gets a little low. The XPRO 2 has a far better handgrip (IMHO) than the XPRO1; but something that has me a little worried on the XPRO 2 is the SD Card slot cover, on my two XPRO2's there is a little play / movement in the cover and is more noticeable when I attach the 16-55 F2.8 zoom lens as you have to really hold the XPRO 2 tight.
So I thought given how better a handgrip makes the XT1 feel, might as well give the XPRO 2 version a go.
Inside the box is an instruction manual and the grip - no little tool to tighten the grip this time though.
I was surprised how slight the hand grip was, compared to the XT1 version - which as you can see is far thicker.
The grip itself is very sturdy, fairly heavy because its so strong and fits as you would expect very well on the XPRO2. It does add some extra size to the bottom of the camera which some people will find to be to much.
When holding the camera with the grip attached I no longer put as much pressure on the SD card cover as I did before, I feel more confident in squeezing the grip to hold onto the body.
Overall I think its worth having for my style, it costs me £99 from Wex here in the UK. It wont be for everybody, prime shooters can probably get away with not having this grip, but If you do use the more heavier zooms (50-140 or the 16-55) then its worth getting.
