Recently I met with Dave and Katie to get some shots before their big day.
A pre wedding shoot is a great for both couples and photographer; from my point of view its great to see how people react around a camera, react around people in public and also how they react together.
I often use the pre wedding shoot to guide me on how the bride and groom portraits are going to work. If they are comfortable with being close together then I can use that when I'm taking pictures at the wedding. If they are stand offish then at least I know and can factor this in.
Katie and Dave were good fun, we had originally planned to meet at 1.30pm when the sun was shining, but... being the UK and February, the rain wasn't far away, and it duly pissed it down... by the time it stopped it was a good hour later, then the wind started.
But we soldiered on and we had some fun.
