Hazel Gap Barn Wedding Photographer | Bride and Groom share a loving look during the wedding ceremony

Scarlett & Ryan were married on a rainy summer day at the gorgeous Hazel Gap Barn in Budby, Newark.

The day started for me over at a Hotel in Retford, where Scarlett, her Mum and her Bridesmaids were getting ready.

Scarlett & Ryan had booked me for eight hours of wedding photography coverage and wanted more coverage of the evening dancing rather than getting ready in the morning, and by the time I arrived, Scarlett was just about to get into her wedding dress with the help of her Mum.

Once Scarlett was in her wedding dress, and after a quick make-up touch-up, it was time for Dad to see her.

One of the striking features of Hazel Gap is the main barn where the wedding ceremonies are held; the light that comes into the barn is stunning and can make for some very dramatic photos of people walking down the aisle.

The wedding ceremony was a quick one, with the guys just wanting to get the legals stuff done as quickly as possible and get cracking on the drinks and canapes, but first, it was the confetti run!

After the hugs, kisses, and a few family formals, it was time for the all-important wedding speeches, with the father of the bride up first with a very emotional speech.

After the wedding breakfast, Scarlett and Ryan wanted to take a quick walk around the venue to grab a few images of them without everyone being around, I’m more than happy to take a quick walk around any wedding venue to grab a few images.

Once we got back from our little walk, it was time for the first dance, or the first shuffle, as I call it, as most couples awkwardly shuffle around each other - its the law when it comes to weddings!

I always love the weddings I document at Hazel Gap, it's a lovely venue with great staff and a friendly vibe and I can see why it gets booked up for key dates each and every year.
