THE CHEQUERS INN WOOLSTHORPE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Carla and Steve were married on a lovely sunny summer's day in August 2019. Carla and Steve contacted me in early 2019 and were looking for a wedding photographer who specialised in documentary wedding photography - after a quick hot chocolate at a little cafe in Bingham; we were all booked up and counting down the days till the wedding.
A few days before the wedding, the weather forecast looked pants; it looked like heavy rain pretty much all day.... but someone must have asked the big man upstairs to post the rain for another day as we dodged the showers, and we kept dry all day!
Carla wasn’t fussed about any pictures in the morning, she just wanted to chill and get ready on her own at the venue, so my day started around an hour before the ceremony.

Something I love about The Chequers Inn is the pub, it’s often pretty dark in the summer with the light coming through the big windows and creates such dramatic light, and for me, as a wedding photographer, this type of light really works for my wedding photography style.
WEDDING CEREMONY AT THE CHEQUERS INN
The ceremony was a nice quick one with Carla and Steve getting all their lines correct the first time and after a little break for a single reading, it was time for the first kiss.
WEDDING HUGS AND KISSES
The part straight after a wedding ceremony is possibly my favourite part of any wedding day; it’s when I get all my hug pictures as people congratulate the happy couple. As you can see from the images below - there were plenty of hugs!
WEDDING SPEECHES AT THE CHEQUERS INN
The wedding breakfast was next on the agenda, and after the food came the speeches there wasn’t a dry eye in the room once Steve had done his speech - an absolute privilege to hear all the stories.
Because we somehow managed to dodge the rain showers, the early part of the evening was spent outside in the garden at The Chequers Inn, with the kids playing the outdoor games and the big kids listening to the live musician.
WEDDING DISCO AT THE CHEQUERS INN
The evening properly kicked off with the cake cut and the first dance followed by one of the best discos I have seen in a long time, everyone up, everyone dancing and no one minding me capturing their dance moves.
