Wedding Photography at St Andrew's Church, Swanwick

Danielle and Paul were married at St Andrew's Church located in Swanwick, Derbyshire.

Wow - what a couple, what a story, what a family.

Sometimes I get an enquiry that hits me and you just know it's going to be a special wedding. I don't think I realised how special this wedding was going to be.

Last October I received this:

"Hello, I utterly love the style of your work and will be marrying the most amazing man at our local little church in Swanwick followed by a reception at Alfreton Hall" "Our story has many chapters which bring Paul and I together with a beautiful blend of 9 surviving children, so it's a celebration of step children, our individual children and a fairytale ending."

And you know what, it was an amazing emotional day. It's taken me longer than normal to edit Danielle and Paul's wedding. I had to step away from looking at the images as some were just too much - especially when you were there and you know the context of the moment.

Along with the emotional images of the day, there were also plenty of happy smiles, from getting a present of chocolate during the ceremony, getting the bus from the Church to Alfreton Hall and especially during ' Singing Waiters' who Danielle had booked without Paul knowing. These guys were brilliant and introduced themselves by dropping a wine chiller full of spoons - once they had everyone's attention they broke out into song! - Awesome.

Below are a few pictures from the day - all the images were captured using 2x Fujifilm XT2s, 1x Fujifilm X100f, 16mm f1.4, 23mm f2, 50mm f2 and the 50-140mm f2.8.

A wedding day starts and finishes in what feels like a blink an eye. Having Andy capture the reality of this short blink was such a blessing. Through his use of discrete cameras and artful awareness he saw all that we missed and more. To be able to blend into the guests and capture their smiles, tears, jokes and movements was nothing short of becoming invisible to everyone. Having used an ordinary public bus service too - not an issue - Andy dashed about through traffic to capture it all. Our photographs are the most beautiful record of a wonderful day. The personal touches, the time spent getting to know us prior to the event and the speed in which photographs were presented to us cannot be faulted. I cannot speak highly enough of Andy, if you’re lucky enough to engage his services you truly will have the cherry on top of your wedding cake. Just look through his photos. The reality speaks for itself. No reviews are even needed. To Andy - many, many thanks from Mr and Mrs Cook (m 11/08/17) xx
