Jenny and Sean were married at Mapperley Farm located in Derbyshire
My Day started with the girls getting ready at Jenny and Sean’s house not too far away from me. When I got there, the girls were pretty much ready to go! I managed to get a few getting ready shots before we all had to rush to leave!
The ceremony was held in an old converted barn, and we had lovely windows on one side of the room which looked beautiful but for us photographers it does pose its challenges; it’s so important to not blow out the highlights on anything close to the window whilst also making sure that we retain detail in the shadows. I had everything crossed that the strong sun would go in for when Jenny walked down the aisle… but it didn’t, and I managed to retain a great deal of detail in the files, and they have come up looking lovely!
After the ceremony, it was a brief stop off in the courtyard for some drinks and then onto the field where the marque and campsite was. I’ve seen a lot of marques and different set-ups, and I think that Jenny and Sean got it bang on; there were plenty of spaces for people to sit down on the big sofas, plenty of dancing space and a nice big bar!
After the food and speeches, we all had a game of rounders followed by the disco and the fantastic live band. It was a nice day (a long one for me!), some nice people and the bride and groom along with their two son’s make a great little family!
A quick note about the venue; it was lovely, the staff were great and helpful; I’d 100% recommend this for a venue to get married at.

“Andy’s documentary style photography captured our relaxed wedding day and lots of special moments between us and our guests. He took the time to get to know us and what we wanted before the big day. He shared valuable knowledge with us to help him get the most for the photos and also just to help us plan the day better. After the wedding, we saw initial shots and the full collection quickly. And all this for a very reasonable price! Highly recommended!”
